FaNseed Funding for Doctoral Research Proposals

The FaNseed funding program provides support for research proposals from doctoral scientists. These research proposals are intended to complement the primary research initiatives within the SFB 1432 projects. The central goal of this funding opportunity is to strengthen and promote the research independence of doctoral students. The allocated funds can be used for various purposes, e.g. funding of student assistants at a rate of 450 € per month and/or the purchase of consumables. The total amount of funding is limited to 900 € per doctoral researcher.

To apply for FaNseed funding, applicants must submit the following documents:

  • A concise but comprehensive description of the project proposal on 1/2 page.
  • A list of needed resources, including cost estimated and/or quotes, if available.
  • An explanation of the need to fund the project proposal and why funding is not available through the original SFB project
  • An explanation of how the proposed project will contribute to strengthening the scientific independence of the applicant.

This structured approach to proposal submission ensures that FaNseed funds are awarded with due diligence and in accordance with the overall research goals of SFB 1432.
