The Mercator fellowship programme by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) enable an intensive and long-term exchange with scientists abroad, whose expertise is of particular importance for the research goals of the CRC. For this purpose, the Mercator-Fellows are funded to be temporarily on site to promote the progress of CRC projects particularly intense by face-to-face collaboration. Beyond the duration of their stays, they remain in close contact with the reserchers involved in the project.

SFB 1432 is fortunate to count two Mercator Fellows - Prof. Dr. Juan Carlos Cuevas, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (E), and Prof. Dr. Andrey S. Moskalenko, KAIST (Republic of Korea). A brief presntation of their research interests, their contribution to the SFB 1432, and their careers is given on the following pages, respectively.
